Camp Cliffview is a one day outdoor camp for children with special needs to be able to explore the outdoor element in a safe but exciting manner. Camp Cliffview started in the summer of 2014, hosted at Appalachian Christian Camp in Unicoi, TN. It has since then expanded into 2 camp dates in TN and also a camp date in Brevard, North Carolina, hosted at Camp Ton-a Wanda.
Our Camp Cliffview TN camps offer activities such as Crafts, Climbing wall, Zip Line, Team building Games, Rocker Board, Fishing and Creek Play, Swimming, and S’mores.
Our Camp Cliffview Brevard offers activities such as crafts, Climbing wall, Canoeing, Fishing, Paddle boarding, Swimming, and S’mores.
Campers are paired up with 1-2 counselors who are with them the entire day as they go through activities.
Requirements:
- Campers must be school aged.
- Campers must be able to communicate (verbally or nonverbally ) their basic wants and needs.
- Campers must be referred by their therapist (PT, OT, SLP). Individual therapists recommend campers who would most benefit from a day camp like this.
- Campers must not pose a threat to themselves or anybody else assisting with camp. Therapists are strongly recommended to be present for the camp day.
